Supplication in Distress !

Supplication (dua) is the weapon of the believer. So true believer never becomes hopeless because he has a deep faith in Allah who is the controller of the universe
Nothing happens without His approval, knowing and will. Since we don’t have the power or ability to change our situation. Anything good or bad happens with His permission, and we should accept it as a blessing in disguise since we cannot see or know what will happen from one moment to another in our lives. If a person gets into difficult circumstances, then he should seek help from Allah. Maybe, that is Allah’s plan to test our patience and attitude and will get a reward for our deeds. Whenever Prophet pub was in distress he used to pray to Allah for help. So we should follow the Sunnah of the Prophet pbuh. Trust in Allah’s plan. Allah says that :

“As for those who believe and do good, We certainly never deny the reward of those who are best in deeds”. (Qur’an18:30)

Do always ask anything with Khair (good). As we don’t know the khair and share (good and bad) aspect of things.

Suhayb ibn Sinān Ar-Rūmi R.A reported that the Prophet said: “How wonderful the affair of the believer is! Indeed, all of his affairs are good for him. This is for no one but the believer. If something good happens to him, he is grateful to Allah, which is good for him. And if something bad happens to him, he has patience, which is good for him.” – [Muslim]

▪︎ A person can make Dua/Supplication as much as he can

▪︎ He has to refrain from sin, remember Allah and seek Allah’s help in everything

▪︎ Spend some Sadqa and charity, do good deeds

For seeking Allah’s help –

  1. إِنَّمَا أَشْكُو بَثِّي وَحُزْنِي إِلَى اللَّهِ وَأَعْلَمُ مِنَ اللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

Innama ashkoo baththee wahuzneeila Allahi waaAAlamu mina Allahi ma lataAAlamoon

Translation: I only complain of my suffering and my grief to Allah, and I know from Allah that which you do not know. [Surah Yusuf – 12:86]

  1. أسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ رَبي مِنْ كُلِ ذَنبٍ وَأتُوبُ إلَيهِ

Astaghfirullah rabbi min kulli ambition was atoobu ilaiyh

Translation: I ask forgiveness of my sins from Allah who is my Lord and I turn towards Him.

Every Prophet or Messenger always asked Allah for help in times of distress. Ibrahim, Yakub, Yusuf, Ayub, Nooh, Yunus, Muhammed (peace be upon them). They all were assigned great responsibility as well as went through hardship. In comparison with them, we are facing nothing, they faced humiliation, rejection and disappointment but carried the task with firm faith in Allah. So follow their footsteps and invoke Allah’s Mercy.
