▪Prophet Muhammad pbuh, full name Abu al-Qasim Muḥammad ibn Abd Allah ibn Abd al-Muttalib ibn Hashim. The Qur’an was revealed to him at the age of 40 years. He was the last messenger of Allah.
▪Prophet Muhammad pbuh belonged to the well known family of Banu-Hashim; his great-grandfather was Hashim ibn Abd Manaf, for whom the clan is named and the tribe of Quraysh.
▪His grandfather’s name was Abdullah ibn Abdul- Mutallib.
▪His father’s name was Abdullah. Abdallah ibn Abd al-Muttalib; (c. 546–570) was the father of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. He was the son of Abdul-Muttalib ibn Hashim and Fatimah bint Amr of the Makhzum clan. He was married to Aminah bint Wahb. who was once chosen for sacrifice by Abdul Muttalib in order to fulfill his vow to Allah. But later they decided that they would sacrifice 100 camels in his place.This is the reason why Prophet Muhammad pbuh once said that he was the offspring of the “slaughtered two”, meaning Ismael and Abdullah.
▪The blessed Prophet’s pbuh mother was Aamna bint Wahhab. The Prophet pbuh was the sole child of his parents. Her mother named him ‘Ahmad’.
▪Abdullah had ten brothers, out of which the following are most commonly mentioned, either due to their unceasing support and love for the Prophet or enemity with the Prophet on the grounds of religion:
The name of Prophet Muhammad pbub’s grandfather is Shaybah ibn Hashim (c. 497 – 578), better known as Abdul-Mutallib who had 11 sons and 6 daughters from his six marriages.
Paternal Uncles of Prophet Muhammad pbub (Sons of Abdul Mutallib ibn Hashim);
‘Abdul-Muttalib had ten sons, Al-Harith, Az-Zubair, Abu Talib, ‘Abdullah, Hamzah, Abu Lahab, Ghidaq, Maqwam, Safar and Al-‘Abbas.
He also had six daughters, who were Umm Al-Hakim – the only white one, Barrah, ‘Atikah, Safiya, Arwa and Omaima
Some known personality:
▪ Abu Talib Ibn Abdul-Mutallib. His mother was Fatima Bint Amr . He was the one undertook the guardianship of the Prophet pbuh after the death of Prophet’s parents and grandfather.
▪ Al-Abbas ibn Abdul-Mutallib (567 – 655 A.D.). His mother was Natilah Bint Khubab . Al-Abbas was three years older than the Prophet of Allah (s.a.w).
While in Mecca with the idol-worshipers, ‘Abbas kept his faith secret, but when Mecca was conquered by the Muslims (630 A.D.), Al-Abbas openly declared his belief in Islam.
▪Hamzah Ibn Abdul-Mutallib(566 – 625 A.D.) His mother was Hala bint Uhaib. He was four years older than the Messenger of Allah. It is also said that Hamzah was only two years older than the Messenger of Allah (i.e. born in 568 A.D.).
He declared his faith in the second year of the revelation (611 A.D.).He took part in the Battle of Badr (624 A.D.) and was graced by Allah for his good performance that made him become a hero.
▪Abu Lahab, also nicknamed as Abd al-Uzza ibn Abdul-Mutallib. His mother was Lubna bint Hajar. Abu Lahab died an apostate and was one of the most hostile of all enemies of the Prophet PBUH. There’s also a Surah in Qur’an name ”.
Paternal Aunts of Prophet Muhammad pbub (Daughters of Abdul Mutallib ibn Hashim):
▪Safiyya Bint Abdul-Mutallib. Her mother was Hala bint Uhaib, Among the Blessed Prophet’s paternal aunts, only Safiyya embraced Islam, may Allah be pleased with her.
▪ Atika Bint Abdul-Mutallib. Her mother was Fatima Bint Amr, the mother of Abdullah Ibn Abdul Mutallib, Abu Talib Ibn Abdul Mutallib and Az-Zubair Ibn Abdul Mutallib.
As Prophet Muhammad pbuh lost his parents at an early age, he spent part of his childhood with his grandfather and later lived with his uncle Abu Talib who continued to be his protector and supporter till death.
The three women who breastfed the Prophet pbuh are as follows:

The Prophet pbuh got married to Khadeeja bint Khuwaylid (RA) at the age of 25.
From among his cousins, there was Ali RA who was very close to him since the Prophet pbuh raised him up in his household alongwith his own children. Zayd ibn Harithah was his slave.
He had seven children in total, out of which there were four daughters and three sons. The names of the sons are:
1- Al-Qaasim ibn Muhammad
2- Abd-Allaah ibn Muhammad
3- Ibraaheem ibm Muhammad
And the daughters were:
1- Zaynab bint Muhammad
2- Ruqayyah bint Muhammad
3- Umm Kulthoom bint Muhammad
4- Faatimah bint Muhammad
