Promote Justice

“O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for Allah, even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives. Whether one is rich or poor, Allah is more worthy of both. So follow not [personal] inclination, lest you not be just. And if you distort [your testimony] or refuse [to give it], then indeed Allah is ever, with what you do, Acquainted”. (Qur’an 4 : 135)

You will be astonished to see a verse from the Qur’an on the walls of the Harvard Faculty Library. It’s one of the most significant verse of the Qur’an where the creator emphasises on establishing Justice. At a time when there is so much anti-Muslim sentiment, Harvard needs to be congratulated for its courage and open-mindedness.

Justice is one of the most key factor for humanity, the reason justice (the human affair) can’t be established by any other creation except man only human can do this. As justice implies superior character and intelligence while injustice means deficiency in both respects. Wherever Justice prevails that brings Peace at the same time Humanity and Society grow peacefully. Therefore, just men are superior in character and intelligence and are more effective in action. As injustice implies ignorance, stupidity and badness, It cannot be superior in character and intelligence. A just man is wiser because he acknowledges the fairness and act on its principle.

All the creation of God has been granted some some virtue and attribute for instance, the sun has to rise daily and brighten the world that enables it to work well. There is list of its advantage and how it is beneficial for mankind. If it is deprived of that virtue, it will affect badly. Similarly, the soul has specific functions to perform. When it performs its specific functions, it has specific excellence or virtue. If, it is deprived of its peculiar virtue, it cannot possibly do its work well. It is agreed that the virtue of the soul is justice. The soul which is more virtuous or in other words more just is also the happier soul. Therefore, a just man lives happy. A just soul, in other words a just man, lives well; an unjust cannot.

Justice and injustice are the two sides of the same coin – that injustice is simply the lack of justice. That’s why we see people around the globe have been suffering the injustice; a disease that kills values, injures dignity and leads some people to revenge, preferring death to life. Injustice affects individuals as well as societies and the whole world. It is a disease created by human to dehumanize human. Injustices occur in our daily life too, violating the right of an individual in many ways.

Sadly, injustice is very dominant today due to ruling hand, power, money and social influence Numerous forms of injustices are happening before us through countless methodologies and unfortunately they provide unreasonable justifications to prove them. Leaders talk of democracy and by the end seize away people’s basic rights. A common man is betrayed for the self-interest of authorities. Absolute power has caused individuals to corrupt absolutely.

We need to change our corrupted system and structure of the society be it political, court, juredicisary or police system even noble field like school, college. It has been spread like contagious disease and those who are against this corruption they may be fired or any harm could be done to that person by these group of people. And it’s not limited to one country but happing globally. So we should raise our voice together against injustice and let us play our part with utmost commitment and craving in re-establishing the lost glory of justice. Though development can only be possible in an atmosphere of peace and justice.
It’s not one time job every individual has to stand firm for justice wherever evil or unfairness occur. It’s the spirit of Humanity and Society.
