Muslim Nation

How do Muslim Nation regain their glory and honour ?

This is a burning issue of Muslim Nation (Ummah). There are approximately 57 Muslim country. Muslims are estimated around one- fifth of the world’s population—or about 1.6 billion people. There are many natural and mineral resource and plenty of lands are blessed to Muslim countries. Muslim nations are in the centre of the world geographically. The Muslim lands possess many riches, being sources of goods and blessings and geographical condition are in their favour. How can this be, when the Muslims are great in number and blessed with plenty of land and wealthy resources ? So how come Muslim would be in such a miserable condition ? Will try to find an answer in the light of the Prophecies of the Prophet Muhammed pbuh and how to regain our glory and honour.

The Messenger of Allah said: “The nations are about to call each other and set upon you, just as diners set upon food.”It was said: “Will it be because of our small number that day?” Prophet pbuh said: “Rather, on that day you will be many, but you will be like foam, like the foam on the river. And Allah will remove the fear of you from the hearts of your enemies and will throw wahn (weakness) into your hearts.” Someone said: “O Messenger of Allah! What is wahn?” He said:”Love of the world and the hatred for death.” (Bukhari)

In comparing today’s senario with the above mentioned hadith which presents the exact condition of Nation what had been said by Prophet Muhammad pbuh. As we are so engrossed in worldly affairs to achieve the pleaseure of it.

“Every nation has trial and my nation’s trial is wealth and just want to gain the pleasure and enjoyment of this world”. (Muslim)

These narrations do not mean that a Muslim should ignore this world and not work for it, and become dependant upon others. Rather, they should work, in order to attain their sustenance and support themself. It is the major causes of weakness amongst Muslim, so they should maintain a balance between this world and the Hereafter, so he performs righteous deeds and seeks the pleasure of Allah; and he works in this world within the limits of the Shari’ah (Islamic Law) to obtain a lawful sustenance, in order to provide for himself and have no need to beg.

However, we are inclined more towards worldly matters – forgetting the Hereafter and the meeting with Allah – if the balance is not maintained. Though we need to understand that this life is the battle field. So we have to ready for all kind of challenges. Prophet Muhammad pbuh had been striving in the path of Allah during the day and stand in prayer during the night, showing outstanding and exemplary courage and conduct in ups and down of life. His character was Quran. How do we treat Quran, or Do we spent our entire life being influenced by his law?

Quran revealing in very clear way (2 : 85) : “So do you believe in part of the Scripture and disbelieve in part? Then what is the recompense for those who do that among you except disgrace in worldly life; and on the Day of Resurrection they will be sent back to the severest of punishment. And Allah is not unaware of what you do”.

Many Scholar, think tank, and Reformer discuseed about the condition of Ummah came to the conclusion, shared their views after deep thought on it which has befallen on this ‘Ummah (i.e. Muslim peoples), that “Real tragedy of Muslim Ummah, have two reason that one left the teachings of Quran and second Disunity in community which is leading to the demise of Muslim Ummah”. But we must remember every cause has solution we can also change our condition what Allah says in the Quran:

“Surely Allah does not change the condition of a people until they change their own condition”. (Quran 13:11)

As long as we do not change our state of goodness by submitting to Allah, being grateful and obidienenc to Allah. As Allah only helps those who help themselves. It’s not the end of this world, not necessary will remain in that state forever. We can revive our strength by following the teaching of Quran and Sunnah and unite ourself in one Ummah. We have to acquire knowledge of the Qu’ran and the Sunnah upon the understanding of the Pious Predecessors – in order to comprehend our state of affairs.

Umar bin khattab RA said:”Verily, we were a disgraceful people and Allah honored us with Islam, so if we seek honor from other than Islam, then Allah will humiliate us.”

The Prophet pbuh did not intend this for us, rather he explained to us these things in order for us to flee from such acts – like a parent who says to his child: ‘Do not go up this road, as there is a wild animal awaiting to eat you if you do!’ So this is a warning from the parent to the child not to take that path. So determine to change our weakness into strength, regain our honour and glory by following divine light and Sunnah “If we will take care of the commands of Allah, Allah will take care of us. And Unite ourselves in One Ummah. We need to self evaluate ourselves, cling to all good deeds and to practice truth and righteousness, begging Allah for all our sins and mistakes, focuse on our present and set an goal for the future. Ramadan – the month of Qur’an, book of guidance, let’s apply Quran in our life and make it our best companion. That’s the only formula to revive our faith (Imaan). As we are going to enter the blessed month of Mercy – Ramadhan. It is time to invoke the Mercy of Allah. It is His Support that can turn the table around and restore our lost glory, honour and strength.

“O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims [in submission to Him]”. (Quran 2:102)

And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you – when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers. And you were on the edge of a pit of the Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses that you may be guided.(Quran 3:103)

“And [you will obtain] another [favor] that you love – victory from Allah and an imminent conquest; and give good tidings to the believers”. (Qur’an 61 : 13)

May Allah Almighty Grant us all the ability to follow the teaching of Qur’an and sunna and to be united ourselves  as before.
