“…and Allah gives life and causes death and Allah sees what you do.” Qur’an (3.156)
We don’t have any authority over our life only Allah does. Ultimately death is also in Allah’s hand. Suicide is therefore wrong attempt so we must not take the power of Allah rather accept that this life is a test, and Allah will not make it harder for us than for what we can bear. When we truly realise that this life is temporary abode so all the diffculties and hardships are also for a short term. Nowadays we see the suicide rates are very high..there are multiple reason e.g the change in life style, when expectations doesn’t meet reality, unbearable disease and pshycological issues. So the easy way out for a person is to suicide. Importantly, we must know that this life is a gift amd blessings of Allah, He chose me to send in this world and honoured me. Hence, He only will protect me then will have great contentment in our heart, all the trials will become easy for us. When Allah is someone’s protector does a person need anyone else in the world ? Self harm or Suicide is impermissible (haraam) in islam.
Qur’an says : “Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. “Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.”” Qur’an (2.286)m
The Prophet pbub said, “None of you should wish for death because of a calamity befalling him; but if he has to wish for death, he should say: “O Allah! Keep me alive as long as life is better for me, and let me die if death is better for me.’ ” (Sahih Al-Bukhari)
