“Is, then, He Who creates comparable to any that cannot create? Will you not, then, take heed? For should you try to count God’s blessings, you could never compute them” (An-Nahl 16:17-19).

God must be praised for having created such a wonderful place as the world we live in. God deserve all our respect, all our love, all our attention and all our praise..We need to be fully aware of the fact that our presence on this earth is only due to Allah’s decision to create man. God honoured the son of Adam by giving them uncountable gifts to enjoy. In order to express our gratitude for God’s generosity, we must show our devotion to Him and perform good deeds for His sake.

All thanks to God that He has shown us so many ways to please Him, irrespective of our status. We should be grateful to God for everything that we possess including our life, wealth, health, status, intellectual abilities and life. Beside obligatory prayers and prescribed good deeds and there are many more acts through which we can immensely please God. Importantly our aim is only to please God, with goodness of heart and pure intention. Then Small tasbeeh or deeds will do wonder and everytime remind ourself that the action is only to please God. Prophet Muhammad pbuh said, “that there are two statements that are light on the tongue but heavy on the scale and they are beloved to Allah swt. They are subhanallah and alhamdulillah”.

God’s Apostle (p.b.u.h) said, “Our Lord, the Blessed, the Superior, comes every night down on the nearest Heaven to us when the last third of the night remains, saying: “Is there anyone to invoke Me, so that I may respond to invocation? Is there anyone to ask Me, so that I may grant him his request? Is there anyone seeking My forgiveness, so that I may forgive him?” (Bukhari)

Tahajjud was compulsory on Prophet pbuh.

  • ” O you who wraps himself [in clothing],… Arise [to pray] the night, except for a little -Half of it – or subtract from it a little…Or add to it, and recite the Qur’an with measured recitation.. Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word.Indeed, the hours of the night are more effective for concurrence [of heart and tongue] and more suitable for words”. (Quran 73 : 1-6)

God loves this beloved act as this prayer give us spiritual strength and make us steadfast to carry out God’s command. As it’s great Sunnah of prophet pbuh as well as good act in the sight of God. First, we should make intention of it strive hard to wake up in the last hour of the night once a while. We should try to pray tahjuud at least once a while, will find a big difference in our life and we will really feel the sweetness of our faith through tahjjud prayers, developing the intimacy with God. We just can’t imagine that God with all His majesty turns towards us. God loved this act the reason is the slave sacrifice his sleep solely and especially to please only Him. God is the most glorious and venerable. He is the only one who deserve all the praise, respect and obedience and prayers.

Amr Ibn Abasah reported that he heard the Prophet say: “The closest that a slave comes to his Lord is during the middle of the latter portion of the night. If you can be among those who remember God, the Exalted One, at that time then do so.” At-Tirmithi and An-Nasaa’i]

Abu Muslim asked Abu Zharr: “Which late-night prayer is the best?” He said: “I asked the Messenger of God the same that you asked me and he said, ‘The (one done during) middle of the latter half of the night, and very few do it.'” [Ahmad]

The Messenger of God pbuh said, “Purification is half of faith. ‘Al-hamdu lillah’ fills the scales, and ‘subhan-Allah and ‘Al-hamdulillah’ together fill or each fill that which is between heaven and earth. And the salah is a light, and charity is a proof, and patience is illumination, and the Qur’an is an argument either for you or against you. Every person starts his day as a vendor of his soul, either freeing it or causing its ruin.”(Agreed upon)

May we all be of those who practice Tahajjud Prayers regularly, and be of those most closest and beloved to God. Ameen..!
