Reality of Life and Death

God says in the Quran that : “[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed – and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving” (Quran 67 : 2)

This life is a test from the Lord, if He appears or makes us all obedient then there would be no dispute at all. If a child is given the exam paper prior to his exam then conducting an exam is of no use. Isn’t it? God is Just, who has given to a man the freedom of free will and power of free choice so as to acknowledge Him (unseen) as God, for that He has given us many signs in the universe and in ourselves, to recognise Him. For example, did you see any crack in the sky ? who sends down the rain, who brings day and night? God challenges these things as proof for man, He proves that there is no other proof that these are controlled by any other being other than God. If there is, then God challenges in the Quran to produce a proof of it, for God claims it, providing proofs and reason for its acclamation. Everyone has to leave this earth, no one is going to live here forever ? who is there behind all this ? Our creator who has might and power over all things is the One.

This world is a place of trials and tribulations, and every individual is answerable to his/her deeds that How did he/she spend his entire life. For that we have been given an intellect and reasoning and made us superior over all other creation. It is much like an honour given to mankind to have an access to the marvels of God from the backhand, so that God can expose man’s potential and capability, thereby be tested accordingly. Having an access from the backhand, does not give us total control or authority over it, we are only being honoured by it out of Mercy because God is just and thus he will not deprive us from his love, being the infinite source of all forces.

The creations of God, the space, earth, beings, universes and all realms, seen and unseen are enough to humble Man, and enough as proof so that we are bound to choose to obey our creator. But out of His mercy God and Justice, he let’s us accessibility to the freedom of choice and will, and do whatever we want. This itself is the greatest gift and proof of God. Our absolute conciousness and authority over our selves. But in Justice, He will then punish those who transgress and reward those who have obeyed. With the last breath, our examination comes to end, and we will then transcend from time to the reality, only with whatever we have fed our souls with secretly and publicly in this wordly life.

That’s the reason, God created man and revealed the guidance books and sent Messengers to guide mankind to the straight path and did not leave man alone. God honored the children of Adam and subjugated for their benefit that which is in the heavens and on earth. He distinguished man with reason by which he can know his Lord and by which he knows what is good and evil. Our this life is like a capital which is still in our grip, but by every second it’s slipping away. Let us ponder and act according to the truth before our death. And then the day of judgement will reveal what justice we have given to this trust of God. If we have fulfilled it with justice, we become a part of God’s mercy. Then, let’s apply the formula for eternal success before it’s too late.

A deep thought on the reality of this life clarifies it all. As humans we have limited knowledge to grasp the wisdom behind the running of this universe and its contents within. However we strongly believe that Allah is All-Aware and has His knowledge spread at every incident.
We can enjoy Allah’s support and protection as long as we remain obedient to Him. Once we transgress the bounds of His obedience, we will be deprived of Allah’s care and protection and left to our own self, which is the worst state. The words of Allah can only motivate and inspire us to earn more deeds which will be our provision for our last destination. The Holy Quran says :

“Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your [full] compensation on the Day of Resurrection. So he who is drawn away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has attained [his desire]. And what is life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion.” (Chapter 3, Surah Al-Imran and verse 185)
