The noblest of all creatures, i.e. the mankind is alway in search of inner peace, always finds way to please or worship to someone or something greater than him. Worship (Ebbadah) means to know God, submit to him and follow his orders. There is great wisdom of the creator that He has made it obligatory upon His slaves to worship solely to Him so that man will be saved from many deception, otherwise human being would have worshipped almost all of His creation because of ignorance. When man worships God, the act does not fulfill any need of God Almighty. Rather man acknowledges the real mercy of his biggest Benefactor who designed this universe in such a way that it matches every individual necessity and provide complete life support system and all that he needs has been pre-instilled into the ecosystem already.
Worshiping is therefore a means of acknowledging the unlimited Beneficence and Mercy of the Creator.
Worshipping and prostrating to only one God can rescue a soul from hardship of serving to many different deities. That’s why God demanded to be worshipped Him alone, forsaking all other false deities. As matter of fact, God doesn’t want or need our prayers rather it is only for our benefits..
“O mankind, you are those in need of God, while God is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy ” (35 :15)
God wants man to be only His own slave not of His creation’s slave, that’s why elevate his status by commanding to worship only to Him. He has mentioned in a clear way that “And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me ” (Qur’an 51 : 56). Hence, Worshipping is an expression of love, praise and awe to the God who gives us more than we deserve.
This way we will have close proximity with our creator who is the sustainer and provider. If we follow as per His instructions will be rewarded eternal blessing of Jannah (paradise). If every human being on the earth becomes the most obedient slave of God, it does not benefit even a a bit to God. Conversely, if all human beings become the most disobedient and rebellious, it does not harm Him at all. Our obedience or disobedience is completely irrelevant to His Majesty, Greatness, Splendour, Might, Lordship and Kingship. None of it makes any difference to Him whatsoever. Furthermore, It’s His mercy that we are blessed with so many goodness, and even bestowed abundant honour to mankind more than his worth.
“And We have certainly honored the children of Adam and carried them on the land and sea and provided for them of the good things and preferred them over much of what We have created, with [definite] preference” (Qur’an 17 : 70)
May God guide us in making choices that please You And accept our Worship !
