Does God Experience Time ?

No. Time is a faculty of the creation of God. Time itself is a creation of God. Like how a horse’s structure stature and design is created by God, also the horse’s speed is determined by God. The horse has his own speed limit determined by God, whereas a cheetah has its own speed limit determined by God. Every creature has been shaped and designed by God according to God’s will. Likewise, the whole of the creation of the 7 heavens and the earth (though we are still exploring only the first heaven of “Cosmos”) are determined and designed by God. The universe is bound by “Time”.

Time is a faculty of the creation which bounds all creation differently. Earth may experience a different timezone whereas other units of the space experience different time lapses. As far as we observe “Light” there is time. Our universe consists of balls of fire and light all across. We haven’t completely grasped the nature of our universe and thus we haven’t even completely grasped time. It is a continuous and relative process. However there are black holes which even bend light and gravity, thus they might also bend time. We cannot claim as we have no thorough evidence and proof of so.

However even if the black holes are unbound by Time, it may lead us to dimension where “Time” does not function as it does in the universe. The multi verse might have a time free zone. But we are still very very far of considering anything as fact. However as far as there is existence of “Light”, where on the cosmos or observable universe, the Quran terms it as the “First Heaven”. The Quran states that “we have beatified the first heaven with Light…..”. This verse proves that wheresoever we can reach and as far as there is light, then that is the first heaven or dimension. And God has said in the Quran that we have constructed seven layered heavens or seven dimensions. The first dimension or our observable dimension may be bounded with “Time”. We have no clue as to what exists even in the beyond 6 dimensions (heavens) that exist. Many if the philosophers claimed the universe to be in unification co existing with God. They said that time itself is God and that God is eternal. Hence time is also eternal and infinite and that this universe will perpetually exist further. They claimed that God is in the present and thus when we die, our souls retreat back to God (the universe) and we become part of the One whole or “Singularity”. This notion is accepted till date by most profound scientists and astronomers etc. They claim that there exists a singularity and that all beings will exist as eternity perpetually in the universe.

The Quran refutes all of this but clarifies that there exists a Singularity which the Quran terms it as “One Soul”, “and it is He who created you from one Soul, and made for a place of abode and resting..”. The Quran in fact as complimented to the study of cosmology and moreover provided with wise hints as evidence. The Quran says that because God is infinite therefore His creation is also perpetual (like man himself who is perpetually created over time), but God says that because we cannot fathom the extent of that perpetuality, doesn’t mean it is infinite.

God says that what seems infinite to man is actually finite. And that God has set assurance finiteness for every creation, but the marvel of His creation is that it is perpetual, but it will end. Though time is if in it and the universe seems to perpetually exist.God says all faculties and all creations will have a finite end. Be it even time or any other perpetual creation (man, stars, black hole, universe). God is so beyond and perfect in ability that he can make the impossible and possible and make the possible impossible. He can bring the dead to living and living to dead. So God will end this seemingly “infiniteness” with Finteness because God is able to. And this is a promise he has made since Adam to man, that what you think that life of this world is eternal, and after you just live and die, and then you’ll just be a part of the universe, or transform into a different energy and exist in the dimensions of the universe co existing with the singularity; all of this is false and only assumption by man. God says that every atom which has been created and existed and then ceased to exist (or dies) had been registered in a record with God. Likewise, every living creation be it man spirits or animals etc. All will live and then die, and then will resurrected and proportioned in their original form, the Day when God will Implement the end upon this seemingly “infinite” world. An example of a lake, inside of which animals and trees exist, and if an animal is killed or is dead or a plant is dead/ non existent, their DNA cells will regenerate inside of the ocean and new plants and animals will be produced in time. This seems as “infinity” but in fact it is only “perpetual”. The lake would have been infinite if it would exist forever. But in spite of life being created and recreated inside of the lake again and again, one fine day the lake dries up. That is what is the fate of the universe. “Time’ “light” and “life” are faculties of the universe just like the plants and animals inside the lake.

Hence God has promised thant one day this whole of universe will dry up and end once and for all, even though until the faculties are being perpetually created and recreated. What man assumed that he will coexist with the universe in the singularity after his death as a different form of energy, is only a pure “deception” made by Man. God says even the perpetual singularity will have a finite end along with every creation (most of which man is unaware of). And on that moment, every being will be brought back forth in the form in which he was living “life” and will be questioned about what justice did it give to the trust (Life) given by God to him, and that day his account will be done. This is a promise God has made since ever, to mankind. That just because you cannot fathom the extent of “Time” or the creations of the heavens and the earth and because it’s perpetuality seems as “infinite” to you, such is not the case for God. For God is powerful beyond grasp and I finite and that He can cause anything to happen, just like he brought from nonexistence, the existence of everything. So shall he cause it to non exist whenever He wills, even though to us it seems as never ending, but that is because we have a fragile perception and grasp which is limited and unaccessible completely. God has promised in the Quran that “time” shall also end and that God is so capable that he has with him the record of the every moment of even the strings or frequency of “Time” and all other aspects.

And that each thing is in a record already with Him. No atom of time or any other faculty or energy in the heavens and the earth exists, but that is already inscribed in God’s register. When man himself can keep a track of time and it’s nature and other abstract knowledge, has man foolishly assumed that His Creator who invested man with all these abilities and made for man these complex varieties would find it difficult to maintain a record of it? God says that no one knows the extent of the universe’s existence, it has been made unfathomable so that man can reason that he cannot even fathom the “finite” creations of God, then grasping and perceiving God Himself (who is The Eternal) is actually beyond human comprehension.

The Quran has a number of verse which hint at the time relativity of the universe and that man thinks that it is a never ending affair and that his human life is but a “chance” and that after his human death he will co exist till eternity with the universe, and that he claims that the perpetual nature of the universe itself to be as “God”. But God says that He is high above what man can describe God as. All of this is but creation and servants of God. And when the time comes (about which none is aware except God) every atom (man or any other) from the big bang till the very end will be brought back before at once for account as to what did he do with the “life” he was given. And that did he not realise that this marvelous universe was not given to him in vain, but it was given to him to recognise and accept the fact that there was surely a “Creator” to all this and that even we are but His Creation.

God is beyond any human perception (say time or any other) He can only be acknowledged by His creation. Similarly “God only knows the account of time and when it will end (the unseen)”. The verses of the Quran will shed clear light on the above as follows.

“And God created the heavens and earth in truth and so that every soul may be recompensed for what it has earned, and they will not be wronged.Have you seen he who has taken as his God his [own] desire, and God has sent him astray due to knowledge and has set a seal upon his hearing and his heart and put over his vision a veil? So who will guide him after God ? Then will you not be reminded? And they say, “There is not but our worldly life; we die and live, and nothing destroys us except time.” And they have of that no knowledge; they are only assuming. And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, their argument is only that they say, “Bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful.”Say, ” God causes you to live, then causes you to die; then He will assemble you for the Day of Resurrection, about which there is no doubt, but most of the people do not know.”And to God belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And the Day the Hour appears – that Day the falsifiers will lose. (Quran 45 : 22-27)

In the same way, God has created an entity “energy” to power this universe and the things in it. Similarly Time, Energy, Glorious Universe and Human are God’s creation and He is the Creator. He is everywhere through His Knowledge, not necessarily physically. God is beyond time and space as we know them. It’s not our concern to talk about the physical location, or to compare him with any other creation of Him, God is Omnipresent through His Knowledge and His Power, not necessarily in a physical manner, what matter the most for us is to acknowledge His Might and Glory, and to worship Him, and follow His Commands.
