Absolutely true.

“To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; He creates what he wills. He gives to whom He wills female [children], and He gives to whom He wills males.

Or He makes them [both] males and females, and He renders whom He wills barren. Indeed, He is Knowing and Competent”. (Surah 42:49-50)

God has not only created humans in the best and perfect form but also has built a close knit relationship between husband- wife and after that parent- child. Rights of parents are due on their children during life and even after death and vice versa. Both daughter and son are a gift and blessings of the Creator but Daughters ! no doubt a great blessing from God. They are a means of salvation and a path to Jannah for their parents. Daughter is a special blessings of the Creator. God willing whoever perform righteous good deed perfectly and honestly and raise their daughter as per required conditions, In sha Allah, the person would attain three things as the following Hadith confirms it.

First: He will be veiled from Hell and never enter it.

Second: On the Day of the Greatest Terror, (i.e. the Day of Judgment), he will be gathered in the company of the Prophet pbuh.

Third: Paradise will be guaranteed for him where he will be in the company of the Prophet pbuh.

It’s indeed a great reward and honour but believer is required to fulfil the certain conditions.

Parents should take care of girls, being in charge of them and looking after their affairs and interests. Raise them kindly and affectionately. “And whoever fears God, And keeps his duty Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficultly)”. (Quran 65 : 4)

The Prophet pbuh said in an authentic Hadith on the authority of the Mother of the Believers ‘A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her): “Whichever (people) are tried by any of them (girls), and he treats them kindly, they will screen him from the fire (of Hell).” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

He pbuh further said: “Whoever has three girls and is patient with them and clothes them from what he has, they will veil him from the fire (of Hell).”

That is the first reward that the slave of God , would receive for that work, which is to be screened and veiled from the fire of Hell, and whoever is drawn away from the fire and admitted to Paradise has indeed rescued himself from great punishment.

Concerning the second reward, which is to be gathered in the company of the Prophet it was narrated on the authority of Anas that he said, “The Messenger of God pbuh said: ‘Whoever looks after two girls until they attain the age of maturity, would come on the Day of Judgment with me and him being (as close to each other) as these (and he joined his fingers).’” (meaning in Paradise).” [Muslim]

Infact there are several hadiths which mention the special merits of bringing up daughters: Giving our girl children the best education and the best care. Raising our girl children right is a means as salvation and our ticket to Jannah such that you will have close proximity with the messenger pbuh.

As for the third reward, then consider the following texts:

It was narrated on the authority of Jabir that the Prophet pbuh said: “‘Whoever has three daughters whom he gives refuge to, provides for and shows mercy to, Paradise is certainly guaranteed for him.” A man asked, “And (for) two, O Messenger of Allah?”He pbuh replied:“And also (for the one who has) two (daughters).” [Ahmad / Bukhari ]

It was narrated on the authority of Abu Sa‘id that the Prophet pbuh said: “No one has three or two daughters or sisters, and he fears Allah regarding them and is kind to them, except that he will enter Paradise.”

It was narrated on the authority of Anas that he said, “The Messenger of Allah pbuh said: ‘Whoever has two daughters or sisters to whom he is kind as long as they are with him, he and I will be in Paradise (as close to each other) as these (and then he put two of his fingers together).’”

God showers a countless blessings and  mercy upon him. All the above verses and hadiths clearly point out that daughters are indeed a special gift from Allah. So, for all of us who have daughters, let’s render a special thanks to God for His special gift.

Daughter is the ladder to Jannah for their parents. She is more considerate compassionate towards her parents and shield for her parents in the hereafter form the hellfire. Just like the rains when they are showered are a source of Sustenance and joy and after they have passed enables the ground to be fertilile for prosperous cultivation. Likewise are daughter to her parents gift as well as blessings.

Our beloved Prophet pbuh had four daughters, namely Zaynab, Ruqayyah, Umm Kalthoom and Faatimah, may Allah be pleased with them. Prophet pbuh loved his daughters dearly and he never made them feel marginalized or unimportant because they were women, or because they were daughters not sons. He loved his daughters, took pride in them, and he was always feel blessed to have daughters. Although the youngest of his daughters, Fatima RA had always been a source of comfort, support, and strength for her father.

Narrated by Aisha RA : “A lady along with her two daughters came to me asking (for some alms), but she found nothing with me except one date which I gave to her and she divided it between her two daughters, and did not eat anything herself, and then she got up and went away. Then the Prophet pbuh came in and I informed him about this story. He pbuh said, “Whoever is put to trial by these daughters and he treats them generously (with benevolence) then these daughters will act as a shield for him from Hell-Fire.” (Bukhari)

“Whoever had a female who was not buried nor insulted by him, and had not preferred his male children to her, God admits him to Paradise”. [Abu Dawud]

“Our lord! Grant us that our spouses and offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes and give us (the grace) to lead the righteous.” (Qur’an 25:74)
