Faith is like a seed which we plant in our heart. we have to care and need to nourish our faith like seed then only we can grow strong faith otherwise faith will run out as stated our beloved Prophet Muhammed pbuh in the following hadith..
“He pbuh said: “Faith wears out in the heart of any one of you just as clothes wear out, so ask Allah to renew the faith in your hearts” (Mustadrak al-Haakim).
We need to increase or refill our faith. Faith is responding to what you believe in which is defined by the creator, have truly believein our heart, being honestly committed to His words and demonstrate His rule in our life. As our faith never remains in one state, it fluctuate just as heart keeps changing, never stable in one state. Allah has shown in the Quran that how our Faith increases..
“The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts and when His Verses -this Qur’an- are recited unto them, they (i.e. the Verses) increase their Faith; and they put their trust in their Lord (Alone); Who perform salah and spend out of that We have provided them. It is they who are the believers in truth. For them are grades of dignity with their Lord, and Forgiveness and a generous provision (Paradise)” (Al-Anfal: 2-4).
When we believe in Him the most important duty is to be sincere in our deeds and prayers, reciting the Quran, Dihkr, obeying His commands and feel fear to transgress His order, fulfilling His covenant, and follow whatever instruction is given by Prophet Muhammed pbuh and read the creator’s message that is the Quran to become spiritually strong to carry out His injunctions, “O ye who believe! Remember Allah with much remembrance” keep remembering His favor. Try to be in a company of those who remember the God very often. If committed any sin, immediately repent to God and crying for repentance … There are no drops more beloved by Allah than shedding two drop of tears out of fear and love, spend the money on needy and give charity this will be compensating our wrong deeds. And connect with Him wholeheartedly and begging for His mercy and forgiveness can bring us closer to Him and instill a sense of tranquility and softness in our hearts. This increases our faith.
Trust in Allah (Tawakkul) is the key to manage or to control our faith that keeps us steadfast in all circumstances. If situation is not in our favour then trust in Allah will make a way out of it. Prophet pbuh and companion Abu Bakr RA took shelter in the cave before they took off to Madina, Prophet pbuh always placed his trust in Allah in all his affairs when Abu bar RA was sad on seeing this so Prophet pbuh consoled him saying ; “Don’t be sad; indeed, Allah is with us “. [Qur’an 9:40] Then faith becomes stronger and stronger when we surrender more and more to Him. The verse which first comes to mind when we think of Tawakkul (or trust and reliance in Allah) is as following:
“And He will provide him from [sources] he could never imagine. And whoever puts their trust in Allah, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allah will accomplish His purpose. Indeed, Allāh has set a measure for all things.” (Qur’ān, 65:3)
